In short: Franz-Josef is a solid oak bike wall mount, lacquered dark brown, with a shelf – the dark version of our award-winning Johannes. The top tube rests horizontally in the wood, and the top leaves room for a helmet, books or a plant. For bikes with a straight top tube up to approx. 20 kg, from €159, made to order in Germany.
Your bike hangs by its top tube, leaving the top free as a shelf for your helmet, keys or a plant. The same shape as our German Design Award-winning model Johannes.

Oak bike wall mount with shelf
Franz-Josef combines a wall mount and a wall shelf: solid oak, lacquered dark brown, with a clean shape. Your bike's top tube rests securely in the wood, and the top serves as a shelf. This turns the mount into a piece of furniture that looks good even without a bike.
Optionally available with felt lining: it protects your frame's paintwork where it rests on the mount.

It fits your bike if …
… it has a continuous top tube (road bike, gravel bike, fixie, city bike with diamond frame), weighs no more than 20 kg and the handlebars are no wider than approx. 60 cm. You'll find all dimensions and mounting instructions in the Fitting Guide.
Goes well with: the felt wheel strap Fred or Barni (€10) – it keeps the front wheel aligned and the wall clean.

Every Bicycledudes mount is only made once you order – in our partner carpentry workshop, a family business with more than 40 years of experience. There they otherwise build wooden windows and doors, made-to-measure fitted furniture and faithful reproductions of historic windows for listed buildings. That experience with precise dimensions and durable timber construction goes into your wall mount too.
- Selected wood: solid oak (Johannes, Franz-Josef, Friedrich, Henry, Max) and dimensionally stable birch multiplex made of many cross-glued layers (Oskar, Gustav, Clemens, Jakob, Fritz).
- Made by skilled hands: cut, sanded and lacquered in the workshop – made to order, no warehouse stock.
- Felt lining (optional): protects your frame’s paint where it rests.
- Time for care: approx. 5 working days of production, delivery in approx. 7–10 days in total.

Really happy with the customer service - a solid 5 stars! Very friendly and quick contact. Unfortunately I had some trouble fixing the mount because we have reinforced concrete walls in our flat, and I damaged one of the rods in the process - they sent me a new rod free of charge and even offered a replacement mount in case it didn't work out.

Questions are answered very quickly and, above all, competently.
For example, I wanted to know whether the rather long wall plugs and screws are necessary for a carbon bike, and whether mounting on a plasterboard wall is possible or makes sense.
For everyone asking themselves the same questions and therefore unsure whether to buy the wall mount: yes, it works wonderfully.
I simply replaced the supplied wall plugs with cavity wall anchors on the advice of Steffen from the BicycleDudes team. Thanks to the box shape of the wall mount, the weight is spread over a larger area of the wall than with rods, for example. I was still able to use the screws because there is enough cavity behind the wall. If that is not the case, I recommend shorter screws with the same diameter. -
